I have had a lot of bad hair in my life. Purple, permed, shaved, gray, yellow etc, etc. It took me thirty years to realize that people with good hair were not just born that way and that coloring my hair was not going to hide the extra weight I was carrying around. So I found a woman on youtube called "The Hip Chick Online" and she saved the day. Well, her and a colorist called Maxine at Toni and Guy who just ignores me when I talk. Anyway, since I don't have time to go shopping today, here is a quick before and after picture and a link to this magic woman who will
finally show you how to use a curling iron. Honestly, if you have hair that is almost shoulder length or longer, you'll need a curling iron and chances are if you get a curling iron, you're going to need to watch this video.

Is that how I share a link? Did that work? I feel like a monkey sitting here fumbling my way through this stuff.

BEFORE: It's big, fuzzy hair. If there are any make-up experts out there, please call me. |
 |
AFTER: This is my pose and click face. But the hair looks better don't you think? I like to flip it from side to side and act like I am naturally this perfect. |
Hair is gorgeous and your face is flawless. A friend of mine who is a TV newscaster in another city told me all she does for makeup is put the same color everywhere. Whatever blush is on her cheeks is on her forehead, chin and nose. It works.
ReplyDeleteWhat's your make-up question? I do make-up as part of the consultations on my customers, so maybe I might have an answer...
ReplyDeleteyour link worked!!! loved it - especially when her husband walked in and she was talking to no one!!! great tips, wish it worked for me with my straight flat hair which is always straight and flat.
ReplyDeleteUrsula: Where to begin? What color foundation? What color blush? What color eye shadow? How to apply? What color lipstick? I have one foundation, 2 lipsticks (somewhere in this house) and the same eye shadow my mom gave me when I turned thirteen. So, ya, help is needed.
ReplyDeleteJulia: Thanks for checking it out. I love your hair, it requires no help, it is an exception to the rule.
Check the colour of the foundation on your jawbone; if you can't see it then you've got the right colour (might have to be a tad darker in summer than in winter depending on your tan). As far as the colours of your blush and lipstick are concerned and judging from a distance, I'd say use colours with cool undertones, i.e. rosé, pink, fuchsia, berry, purple, deep red, blue lilac (all reds with blueish undertone, no orange, apricot, coral, copper, rust, gold etc), and for the eye shadows blues, greys and cool browns (no gold brown). I'm happy to show you on 10 or 11 January 2013, you can also invite a few friends, bring all your own make-up and mirror, and off we go :-)
